Terms of Service
GUIDE TO CONTENTS
These terms and conditions govern book publishing services provided by Intellect Education Group, including manuscript assessment, developmental and copy editing, proofreading, custom cover design, interior typesetting, print and eBook production, ISBN and copyright support, author branding materials, and retail distribution.
Revision Policy
Complimentary revisions are included according to the publishing package you purchase. We will revise your manuscript, book cover, interior layout, or other publishing materials at no additional charge, provided the original brief, genre, audience, and publishing direction remain the same.A request that expands the scope of work is treated as a new assignment and may be quoted separately. This includes a new storyline, a change of genre, a substantially rewritten manuscript, a new cover direction, or an additional print or digital edition that was not part of the original package.
Cover, layout, and proof revisions are typically completed within 48 hours, unless a different schedule is stated in your package. Editorial revisions to a full-length manuscript follow the timeline confirmed with your assigned editor.
Refund Policy
Intellect Education Group offers a money-back option within 45 days of order placement, with no deductions, and reserves the right to end this offer at any time, with or without notice, depending on the circumstances. This offer applies only when a refund is requested after reviewing the first editorial sample, outline, sample chapters, cover concepts, or interior proofs delivered to you. Asking for revisions on that first delivery is treated as continuation of the project and cancels this guarantee. We rely on timely author feedback so editing, design, and production can proceed as planned. We will not process a refund if the author remains unresponsive for 45 days. You may email us to pause the project if a personal matter requires a hold.
If you wish to drop any part of a discounted publishing package, a refund does not apply. For example, if you purchased a discounted package covering editing and book production and later want only one of those services, no refund is available for the unused portion.
You also forfeit the refund described above after requesting additional revisions (one or more manuscript, cover, or layout changes, regardless of complexity) or after failing to respond promptly to a status update from Intellect Education Group.
If one part of the order is approved or finalized, you are not eligible for a refund on the remaining package.
Rush production fees, including 24-hour editorial or design rush charges, are non-refundable.
No refund is available for publishing companies, agencies, or anyone who orders our services on behalf of another author or organization. If a cancellation request is submitted before delivery of the initial sample chapters, outline, or design concepts, you may be eligible for a refund. In the case of a duplicate charge, the full amount will be returned. If agreed publishing deliverables are not fulfilled as committed at the time of sale, or the work is not delivered according to the delivery policy, a refund may be claimed, provided proof of that commitment is available. For bundle packages (for example, editing, cover design, typesetting, ISBN setup, and distribution), a refund cannot be claimed if one service in the bundle has already been used and the author later discontinues another service.
The following terms apply to all book publishing services purchased by the author and provided by Intellect Education Group.
Funds paid are not eligible for a refund once the initial manuscript sample, outline, cover concepts, or interior proofs have been approved, or once a change has been requested, unless Intellect Education Group cancels or ends the contract for a reason other than the author’s breach or non-performance.All refund requests will be handled as follows:
You may request a refund when the initial sample chapters, outline, cover concepts, or publishing proofs are first provided. Once you approve that work or ask for changes, the refund offer is void and the request will not be accepted.
Once the project enters the revision, editing, or design-revision phase, the refund offer is void and the request will not be accepted.
If a refund is requested before delivery of the initial sample, outline, or concepts, you may qualify for a full refund, less a 10% administration and processing fee.
If the refund request is made within 48 hours of the initial sample delivery, you are eligible for a 66% refund, less a 10% administration and processing fee.
If the refund request is made 48 to 96 hours after the initial sample delivery, you are eligible for a 33% refund, less a 10% service and processing fee.
No refund request will be accepted after 96 hours of the initial sample delivery. We still aim to deliver a book you can stand behind, so please contact us if you have concerns we can resolve through revision.
No refund request will be accepted after 7 working days of author inaction. If you wish to restart the order, a restart fee may apply based on the remaining work.
No refund request will be accepted if the author becomes unresponsive for 5 working days at any point in the project.
All refund requests must be sent to the support team. Intellect Education Group reserves the right to approve or decline any refund request on a case-by-case basis.
No refund will be accepted after the final manuscript, print-ready files, eBook files, or published files have been delivered.
For packages that include interior typesetting or print setup, no refund will be accepted once the initial layout proof has been revised or interior pages have been created with the author’s approval.
For custom publishing bundles, a refund is applied only as it would be for the unused single service. For example, if you order editing and book cover design and approve the edited manuscript, you may be eligible for a refund on the unused cover service only at the initial-concept stage.
A refund request must have a valid reason that can be measured against the original publishing brief and the author’s revision notes. If the work follows the agreed brief, a refund will not be approved. Further editorial or design revisions will still be provided until the package revision limit is met.
Both parties agree not to attack or publicly criticize each other, or any employee, associate, or partner, on public forums, blogs, or social networks during or after the contract. Both parties also agree not to post comments that harm the reputation of the other party. If this clause is breached, the breaching party may be asked to pay reasonable compensation determined by the non-breaching party.
The money-back option depends on the order being placed in good faith. If an author has commissioned the same manuscript or publishing project with more than one writing or publishing company in order to claim a refund, Intellect Education Group does not treat that as good faith and may decline the request.
All publishing projects require author input before a book can be completed and released. The author should stay available throughout the process and provide feedback so the finished book matches the brief.
Our original-work guarantee entitles you to a rewritten sample if editorial work produced by Intellect Education Group is found to be substantially similar to existing published work that we did not receive from you. Any incidental likeness to existing writing is treated as coincidence, and Intellect Education Group does not accept liability for compensation in that case. After the manuscript is finalized, copyright or ISBN registration, if included in your package, may be handled through Intellect Education Group, with applicable third-party or government fees billed separately. You retain the copyright and royalties in the finished book, as described in the publishing and distribution section below.
A change of mind is not a valid reason for a refund.

- i. Phone: (512) 250-0154

Book publishing services: A partial refund may be available by mutual agreement, based on work already delivered and any remaining project stages. After a refund, rights in the unpublished work product return to Intellect Education Group, and you may not display, publish, or distribute any version of the manuscript, cover, interior files, or other publishing materials we supplied.
1. Because those rights transfer back to Intellect Education Group, you agree that you have no right, direct or indirect, to use any draft, sample, cover, layout, or other work product, and you hold no ownership interest in that material.
2. ISBN, copyright filing, and print production: Once the order is placed, the author has 24 hours to request a refund before the process starts and any government fee, ISBN fee, or production fee is paid to a third party. After that 24-hour period, those third-party fees are not refundable. The company may still issue a partial refund on the service portion by mutual agreement.
When we work with copyright offices, ISBN agencies, printers, or retail distributors, Intellect Education Group may share the details required to process a refunded order so unused materials are not later released as an original title.
My Account
The My Account area is the main place for project communication. It is your responsibility to check the account section for editorial queries, manuscript notes, cover and interior proofs, and production instructions. Retail listing, print availability, and delivery times after release are subject to the policies of third-party printers, distributors, and booksellers.
